You can pack a lot of action and a huge amount of memories into half a day within the Queenstown canyon.
The trip begins at the Adventure Centre in Queenstown where you’ll meet the guides in our departure lounge. Here, we share pre-trip safety information and check your suitability for the trip. We ask that you advise us of any medical, health or other safety related information before the trip departs.
Then, it’s a 15 minute drive to our base to be fitted with canyoning gear.
Following a safety briefing, your guides will lead the group through beautiful, ancient beech forest to the start of the canyon.
We descend and explore the canyon by zip line, abseiling (rappelling) waterfalls, slides, plunging into natural pools, floating down narrow passageways and cascading down chutes – all in beautiful natural surroundings.
It’s an awesome and exhilarating feeling. You can choose the level of challenge you want throughout the trip – our guides can provide easier routes and they will instruct you through every adventure!
Then it’s a short drive back to base where you’ll appreciate our investment in heated changing rooms and hot showers.
The Queenstown canyon half day trip is suitable for first-timers to adventure seekers and is a great option for groups and team building. No previous canyoning experience is required but you should be confident in moving water and have a reasonable level of fitness.
Specialty full-length canyoning wetsuits and jackets to provide all-over warmth and protection.
To help keep you afloat when sliding, splashing, jumping and swimming through our canyons.
Sturdy and comfortable boots and socks for scrambling up and abseiling down with confidence.
A low-profile half dome helmet for the rare occasional bump.
We suggest a one-piece for the ladies and Derek says the less bulky boxers for the lads is best.
On those colder days, bring a baselayer. Merino wool will keep you warm when it's wet.
We are the only canyoning operator in both of our Queenstown & Routeburn canyons. Our adventure guides will take you to places that are normally inaccessible.
Our breath-taking canyons feature more waterfalls, natural water slides and deep, crystal clear pools than any other canyoning operator in Queenstown.
We are the most experienced canyoning operator in the Queenstown region, and the only one that provides two guides on every trip, plus personal floatation devices.
Our guides will provide a range of challenges and activities to suit your level of comfort throughout the trip.
The only canyoning provider with changing room, hot showers and on-site toilets.
