We’re chuffed to have been recognised with a TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Award for 2020! A huge thank you to everyone who has gone canyoning and climbing with us and taken the time to contribute a review!
We get to operate in the most stunning places of the world and it’s top-of-mind for us to help protect these areas. We are big supporters of the Routeburn Dart Wildlife Trust and donate a percentage of your trip to help support scientific research to help New Zealand’s endangered native birds.
We kicked Queenstown Adventure Week off with getting the youth involved in adventuring in their own big, beautiful backyard. Here at Canyon Explorers, we think it’s so important to get the younger generations out in nature! We have been working with the Wakatipu High School Year 11 Geography students since 2015.
The rain has cleared, the sun is shining and our Full Day Routeburn Canyoning adventure is open! After a wet weather storm hit Fiordland earlier this month – over 1 metre of rain fell in a 60 hour period in Milford Sound! – our Full Day trips into our Routeburn Canyon are running and the scenery is magical!
Earlier this month, a few of our amazing canyoning guides attended the New Zealand Canyoning Association Festival in Oxford, a small town about an hour’s drive from Christchurch. On the Friday, they had a workshop day that focused on critical aspects of improving canyoner safety. After the workshop, attendees were able to sign up for the different canyoning trips going on Saturday and Sunday.
We had the pleasure of taking Dan and Bailey from Destinationless Travel climbing with us on their first ever via ferrata. Stoked to hear it described as “quite possibly Queenstown’s most unique adventure tour.
